BikeMatchR

Privacy and disclosure

BikeMatchR publishes this plain-language privacy and disclosure policy to explain how the site handles information and the topics below. BikeMatchR may update this page when analytics, affiliate links, or hosting practices change. The current version is always available on this page.

Objective Matching

BikeMatchR ranks bikes by geometry similarity. Match order, match quality, and fit explanations are intended to be based on geometry data only, not on advertising, affiliate availability, sponsorships, or paid placement.

Affiliate Disclosure

BikeMatchR may eventually include outbound links to manufacturer, retailer, or product pages. Some of those links may be affiliate links, which means BikeMatchR may earn a commission if you click a link and make a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships will not affect the ranking or scoring of bikes. If affiliate links are added, they should be treated as optional shopping links after the match has already been calculated.

Information You Enter

When you choose a bike and size, BikeMatchR uses that selection to show geometry data and find similar bikes. The app may remember selected bikes, sizes, recently viewed bikes, shortlist choices, comparison settings, dismissed notices, and similar preferences in your browser so the site works smoothly across pages and visits.

BikeMatchR does not ask you to create an account, enter payment details, or submit personal profile information.

Cookies and Browser Storage

BikeMatchR may use cookies, local storage, or session storage to remember your selections, recently viewed bikes, comparison state, and other preferences. These technologies are used for site functionality and convenience, not for selling personal information.

Share Links

Some pages may generate shareable links that include bike selections, shortlist choices, or comparison settings in the URL. Anyone with that link may be able to view the same comparison.

Analytics and Hosting

BikeMatchR does not currently load third-party analytics scripts. No Google Analytics or similar tracking runs on the site today.

The site may add Google Analytics 4 (GA4) in the future to understand aggregate usage — for example which pages are visited, general referrers, and device types. If that is enabled, analytics would run only after you choose Accept on a site consent notice, not automatically when pages load.

Your control. The primary way to opt out is to decline analytics in the site consent notice. If you previously accepted, you can withdraw or change that choice below (when analytics is enabled) without sending an email. After you decline or withdraw consent, BikeMatchR would not send new analytics data to Google.

Hosting providers may process basic technical logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site. Those server logs are separate from optional client-side analytics.
